Concerns have been raised over the combined impacts of construction works for the Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link projects on the north shore, with figures showing up to 2500 truck movements would be added to local roads.
Willoughby Council Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney used last month’s council meeting to raise concerns over the cumulative impacts of construction traffic, noise and vibration, and air quality.
The council also objected to the use of Brook St as a truck and traffic route and said “there was significant community concern that truck movements and works would cause damage to buildings (along the route) and consequently risk health and safety.”
