Helping hand for bushland

BUSHLAND in Northbridge and Castlecrag has been restored as part of Bushcare’s Major Day Out.

North Sydney federal Liberal MP Trent Zimmerman and Willoughby Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney were two of the 26 volunteers who turned out to lend a hand.

Mr Zimmerman called on the federal government to consider supporting Bushcare Major Day Out.

“Is a great example of councils, land owners and community groups coming together and working towards something great — that is the protection and enhancement of our local environment,” he said.

The Bushcare Major Day Out saw volunteers gathering at 280 sites to help restore native bushland.
