Like many of you I received a letter from Council regarding Eastern Valley Way / Edinburgh Road – right turn phase.
This letter is the next step in gathering community feedback in respect to the introduction of a right hand turn green arrow.
As you know I have strongly campaigned to have an green arrow at this intersection. While I am encouraged by finally having some action, I am concerned about the proposed removal of car spaces on the southern side of Edinburgh Road on the approach to Eastern Valley Way. The letter indicates that these spaces will be “some extended peak period parking restrictions”. The attached map indicated the removal of these spaces is permanent. This of course could have a detrimental affect on the convenience of short term parking and a flow on effect to local business.
I am seeking urgent clarification from Council and will let you know when I know more.
