It was an honour and a privilege to be elected as Deputy Mayor this week. This position is voted on by my fellow Councillors and I thank them for their support.
The coming year promises to be an interesting and challenging one. Councils are facing amalgamations, Local Government Review and new planning legislation. Willoughby Council is looking to provide more sporting and recreational facilities to our growing population. We face planning decisions which impact on density in our suburbs and the CBD. Protecting our bushland and maintaining a village lifestyle are all important considerations and all this while trying to keep a lid on our rates. It promises to be a busy and exciting time and I am looking forward to being a part of it.
