As a local resident of the Sailors Bay Ward for the last 13 years, I have seen the many benefits that raising a family in this community has to give.
When I moved to the area, my daughter was small and my son was born a short time later. Through the Willoughby community my children have learnt to swim, played sport, been educated. I have been supported with childcare, medical care and recreational facilities. To accommodate my growing family I have renovated a home and gone through the DA process.
With my experience with living in the Willoughby area I believe I am well placed to give families a voice to defend their community interests in Council.
I am concerned about any proposed development to Northbridge Plaza and the impact on local traffic flows, the building of residential units, the proposed car park and the potential overdevelopment of the site. Plans are currently on hold, but for how long?
The Sailors Bay Ward has a unique heritage and environment and we need to preserve our bushland while accommodating the needs of our growing community.
Families within the Ward also need to have protected public open space and local recreational groups should have equitable access to training facilities.
I would welcome feedback regarding these and any other issues. You will find an email link in the ‘complete profile’ area of this page.
